Fairburn Lacks Transparency

Greetings:
I believe it is time to set the record clear and provide some explicit details about my concerns with this administration and fellow council members. During the budget workshops, I raised concerns about the Mayor's interference with receiving public staff salaries, as the problem is the city is too top-heavy. All requests have been avoided and met with legal opinions from the city attorney that grossly misrepresent the charter, current ordinances, and Georgia constitution. The role of the Mayor is ceremonial, which limits his authority to instruct staff from providing public documents.
I was recently informed that my concerns about unfair salaries are valid. Attached are the wages of Fariburn staff and the contract of the city manager, who received an illegal five-year contract that supersedes the term of the Mayor.
How can any council member approve a future contract that exceeds their term of office? This is a clear example of waste and mismanagement. Council members making decisions in this manner are negligent.
.
Below are the city manager's contract and current employee salaries.
We deserve a government that works for the interest of its residents and not the interest itself.
. Please stand with me and demand TRANSPARENCY NOW!!!
Councilwoman Hudson, MSW
